After Hours
Our physicians are always available for emergencies after hours. If you need assistance after hours, please call the regular office number. Your call will be taken by our answering service and then triaged to either a nurse advisor or to one of our physicians. If the emergency or problem can not be resolved by the nurse, the physician on call will be notified to call you. Kids don’t always get sick during normal working hours. We’re excited to tell you about a new, better option for pediatric care when our office isn’t open: Kids Time Pediatrics.In partnership with several other local pediatric practices, we’ve helped set up these offices to see simple pediatric problems on evenings and weekends. They’ll be staffed by genuine, board certified pediatricians.
Kids Time Pediatrics centers are not designed to be "urgent care centers" or emergency rooms. They will not have x-ray facilities or extensive laboratory support. They’re meant to see ordinary, everyday pediatric problems, the same sorts of things that we see in our office, like sore throats, fevers, ear aches, and coughs.
How is Kids Time Pediatrics better than other options for after-hours care?
- They’re not urgent care centers—and we do not anticipate urgent-care style waiting times.
- They’re set up to take the same insurance plans as our office, and you will usually pay your standard office co-pay (or a very reasonable flat fee for cash-paying families.)
- Your child will be evaluated by a real pediatrician, not a nurse with limited pediatric training.
- Your own pediatricians are part of the Kids Time organization, and will help make sure that these sites provide the kind of excellent care that your children deserve.
- The doctors at the Kids Time sites will be in touch with your own pediatrician at your practice to ensure the best good continuity of care.
In a few weeks, another Kids Time Pediatrics site will open in Alpharetta at 4000 Northpoint Parkway, at the corner of Old Milton Parkway. We’ll let you know the exact opening date soon.
Normal operating hours for both sites will be weekdays 6 pm-9 pm, and weekends 1 pm-7 pm.
