Dr. Roy Benaroch (Dr. Roy)
was born and raised in Miami, Florida. There, he was an avid SCUBA
diver and State Champion Pente player. During his years at Tulane
University pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Roy
performed in several musicals and rock and roll bands, playing
keyboards, saxophone, bass guitar, and singing. He has lived in the
Atlanta area since beginning medical school at Emory University in
1990. Dr. Roy completed residency through the Emory University
Affiliated Hospitals in 1997, and then served as Chief Resident and
Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. He has continued his
involvement on the Emory faculty as an Assistant Professor of
Pediatrics. He was Board Certified in Pediatrics in 1997 and joined
Pediatric Physicians, PC in 1998. Dr. Roy lives in Dunwoody with his
wife and three children. In addition to his work as a pediatrician, Dr.
Roy enjoys swimming, vegetable gardening, and writing. Dr. Roy has
written two books for parents, Solving Health and Behavioral Problems from Birth to Preschool: A Parent's Guide and A Guide to Getting the Best Healthcare for Your Child. His blog, The Pediatric Insider,

Dr. Jean A. Muench (Dr. Jean)
was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. After receiving her
Bachelor of Science in Physics from the College of William and Mary,
she taught science in Ghana with the Peace Corps, then worked for the
IRS. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Michael Reese Medical
Center in Chicago in 1981. In 1982 she established a private practice
in Cobb County and joined the staff of Pediatric Physicians, PC in
1998. Dr. Jean has been Board Certified in Pediatrics since 1983. She
has three children and lives with her husband in Cobb County. Dr. Jean
enjoys choral singing and watching soccer.
Dr. Jennie Gropper Biggs (Dr. Jennie)
was born in Winter Park, FL and was raised in Miami Beach, FL. After
receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of
Florida, she went on to attend medical school at the University of
Florida where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
She received her Doctorate in Medicine in 1999. She completed her
residency training in Pediatrics at Emory University and is board
certified in Pediatrics. She joined Pediatric Physicians in 2002. Dr.
Jennie enjoys traveling, cooking, and is an avid sports fan. She roots
for the Dolphins, the Gators, and the Braves, and lives in Dunwoody
with her husband and daughters.
Dr. Michelle Kelly (Dr. Michelle)
was born and raised on the outskirts of Philadelphia. She attended
undergraduate school in upstate NY at the Rochester Institute of
Technology. There she studied engineering, worked as a cooperative
education student at Kodak, and conducted research in magnetic
resonance imaging. Dr. Michelle then went south to the Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in NYC. A further move south to Atlanta brought Dr.
Michelle to Emory University for her pediatric residency. After
finishing her training in 2000, Dr. Michelle became Board Certified and
entered private practice in the metro Atlanta area. She has also spent
time as a hospitalist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish
Rite. Her special interests include genetics, adolescent medicine, and
breastfeeding. Dr. Michelle resides in Alpharetta with her husband and
three children.
Dr. Jina Ryu Brown (Dr. Jina)
was born in South Korea and came to United States when she was 5 years
old. She grew up in Nashville, TN and Indianapolis, IN. After obtaining
an Economics degree from Cornell University in New York, she attended
University of Tennessee Medical School on a full merit scholarship. She
completed her pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in
1993. Dr. Jina has been board certified by the American Academy of
Pediatrics since October 1993. Prior to joining Pediatric Physicians,
she practiced in Charleston, SC and Baltimore, MD where she served as
medical director of an inner-city multispecialty group. She lives in
Norcross with her pediatric hematology-oncologist husband and her 2
daughters. She spends her free time volunteering at her children's
school, attempting to garden, and reading with her kids.
Lara A. Burer, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP),
was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After receiving her
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan, she
gained experience in several capacities as a Registered Nurse. At All
Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida she worked as an RN on a
post-surgical floor and later in the Operating Room. Upon moving to New
York City, she worked as an RN at New York Presbyterian Hospital in the
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. After settling in Atlanta, she completed
her graduate education at Emory University, earning a Master's Degree
as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Lara now resides in Alpharetta with
her husband and German Shepherd. She is a roller-coaster enthusiast and
enjoys decorating cakes and playing the piano in her free time.
