Today the maker of Auvi-Q announced a nationwide recall of ALL devices. These are epinephrine auto-injectors, shaped like a pack of cards, used to treat life-threatening allergic reactions. There have been reports of the devices failing to dose properly.
IF YOU HAVE AN AUVI-Q, follow these steps:
- Call us to prescribe a replacement product (typically an Epipen, or the generic equivalent)
- Go to www.Auvi-Q.com for details about how to return the defective device and get a refund.
- AFTER you have your new Epinephrine autoinjector, return the Auvi-Q. Don’t return it until you have a replacement. If there is a serious allergic reaction and all you have is an Auvi-Q, use it, and then call 911.
