The CDC has just issued a travel alert for most of the Caribbean, Central, and South America– especially for pregnant women.
A new infection called “Zika Virus” is rapidly spreading. It’s transmitted by mosquito bites. Though most people who catch Zika have only a mild illness, it can cause birth defects if caught during pregnancy. More about Zika from my blog, here.
